On a deeply chilly winter night in New York, a celebration of womanhood left a warm, intimate impression in SoHo. At the heart of the evening stood designer Alejandra Alonso Rojas and her latest project, Women in Alejandra Alonso Rojas, done in collaboration with photographer Anastasiia Duvallie.
For the project, Rojas selected a collection of women (Alina Cho, Divya Mathur, Priya Shukla, Marina Larroudé, Lilah Ramzi, and Novella Paghera) who embody strength, grace, and womanhood and more pillars of her ready-to-wear brand, which was founded in 2016. Each woman was photographed at home, surrounded by objects that encapsulated their spirit—and, of course, everyone was dressed in fabulous Alejandra Alonso Rojas pieces. (For example, Brazilian footwear designer Marina Larroudé was shot on a spiral staircase that wound upwards with pumps on steps.)
Last night, the designer brought all the women—IRL and their photos— together in a setup that read as an Alejandra Alonso Rojas moodboard brought to life. Hosted on a new, private floor of Manhattan hotspot Lucky’s, this gathering introduced Duvallie’s portraits to a stylish crowd.
