Girls night out outfit! Since the weather has finally dropped, I’m pulling out a lot of my fall pieces for the first time this season — it’s like seeing old friends again, and I just need to gush about them a little! Please indulge me.
THIS LIL PLAID SKIRT. It’s from Hollister, which makes me lol. Is it 2000 again? But it’s possibly the best fitting mini skirt I’ve ever had. I’ve tried so many minis lately, including really nice skirts from Reformation — but this one beat them all out (and it’s less then $30, I might add). Okay, let’s hit the high points: High rise, but with an elastic back! Pockets! Built-in shorts! It’s perfect. Sadly, the plaid is sold out, but it’s still available in black.
BOOOOTS! I was so excited to pull out my Staud Wally boots for the first time this season. I scored them on Black Friday ’22, and even with the discount they are still the most expensive shoe I own. But guess what? I found boots that look almost identical from J.Crew Factory for under $100! Jump on ’em if you need a slightly dressier, going out boot.
IT’S SWEATER WEATHER AT LAST, so naturally I grabbed the softest sweater I own — the Jenni Kayne cashmere cocoon cardigan. I like to button it up and wear it as a top, but I always pop this Free People bralette underneath. It’s low enough to not show, but it’s snug enough to keep me feeling secure.
YES, IT’S A MAKEUP BAG. My going out bag of choice these days is the free makeup bag that came with my first Merit order. I often feel weird when I carry fancy little purses, but not with this one! It feels natural to carry. I love the warm color and that down-to-earth corduroy fabric. You can’t buy it directly, but it does come free with your first order.
