So, I’ve been doing a fair amount of daydreaming about my fall wardrobe lately, and here’s something I’m noticing:
My hot-weather style is pretty dang different from my cold-weather style.
In summer, I become fully minimalist (aesthetically speaking). Give me the most basic black dress, flip flops, no jewelry, and I’m riding so high you’d think I invented fashion or something.
But once I’m layering up for chilly weather, that summer simplicity seems…lackluster. I crave more color, detail, interest. The minimalist side of me goes into hibernation.
I used to think this was a bad thing. Aren’t we supposed to have consistent style?!
I love the idea of having consistent style, but for me, my style doesn’t play out that cleanly in real life. And that’s perfectly okay. As long as my clothes are working for my real life, I’m good.
Can we talk about this gorgeous stripe-y sweater for a sec? I’m obsessed with how the stripes on the sleeves line up with the stripes on the body. It’s soft and cozy — I can already tell it’s going to be one of my most worn sweaters this fall.
