What I Wore Last Week-ish

Last week was one of those weeks that I really didn’t want to get dressed in cute outfits. It was first week back to school and I thought the week would slow down, I thought the summer was ending and my creativity and productivity was about to explode in the best way. I was so excited to have my full work day back. My precious naive self I thought I’d be able to get all of this stuff done last week. Boy was I wrong, very wrong. Why is the first week back to school chaos and how come I always forget this little fact? Last week was busy from the time we woke to the time we went to sleep: we had curriculum night at school, we had soccer practice, we also had a mid-week birthday celebration for our little gem. So last week was WILD to say the least. And I’ve noticed that when I get stressed, I don’t want to get dressed. Those black leggings and a loose tee start looking really good at 6:45 am. (Remember back in January when I said I was going to try to get dressed as much as possible this year? I’m still holding on to that!) This week has calmed down in the best way and I feel like by the start of September we will be in the swing of things.

So last week was a mix of casual and ‘oh no I forgot we have to be at the school in an hour’ outfits. As you’ll see below my black linen shorts did the heavy lifting as well as some comfy denim.

AF Baggy Loose Jeans | Similar Graphic Tee | Golden Goose Sneakers | Allsaints Tote

It’s no lie I’m obsessed with these jeans. This is the low rise baggy jeans from Abercrombie and they are so loose and so comfy.  (Full review here) This is a past season tee from Madewell but I’ve linked a similar above!

J.Crew Maxi Dress | old Reformation Sandals

This was as dressed up as I got last week, but it didn’t feel that way because this dress is so lovely and lightweight. We had our last heat wave last week and denim shorts just sounded restrictive. But a flowy maxi dress? Count me in. It’s from J.Crew found here! I am in the medium, it runs TTS but it is the tightest at the chest, keep that in mind.

WIld Fable Tee | Madewell Barrell Jeans | Adidas Sambas

I picked up this super soft tee from Target while we were grabbing some last minute things for school. This top runs very big! I am in the medium and it’s kind of one of those things where I either need to go up for an exaggerated oversize look or go down even more, like to a small for a more ‘normal’ fitting tee. Just FYI, it’s oversized but somehow you need to play with the fit a bit to get the one you prefer. Otherwise, it’s SO soft and easy to wear.

J.Crew Jolie Eyelet Top | Madewell Trouser Shorts | Clare V. Crossbody

These shorts really showed up for me last week. They are almost sold out but they are some of my favorites from Madewell in a long time. I am in the 10, fit is perfect. Find them here but going fast!

This top is gorgeous from J.Crew although I didn’t really do it justice with this outfit. I was running out the door and probably I would do a lighter bottom with this top so you can see its detail. The all black kind of drowned it out, but it has the prettiest eyelet detail. It’s a boxy fit but TTS. I am in the large. It’s on sale, too!

Abercrombie Active Dress | Hoka Sneakers

I played pickleball for the second time in this little number. 10/10 recommend it! I added a sports bra because I didn’t want to get kicked out of the pickleball establishment for indecency. I’m in the large, TTS. The dress is 15% off today, too!

Free People Top | Madewell Denim Skirt | Vince Pia Wedges | LV Ellipse Dome Bag

This was technically the Saturday before last but a little date night outfit! I thought I’d throw Bryan’s outfit in here too 🙂

When I bought this little denim skirt I didn’t know I’d like it so much! It’s almost sold out but I’ve linked it here. This top is one of my favorites lately. It’s so nice and breezy, easy to pair with any type of denim, too.

On Bryan: Nisolo Sandals (he loves these!) | similar Abercrombie top | Express Linen Pants

J.Crew Top | Madewell Linen Shorts

You saw this on the blog but I thought I’d toss it in here as well! This top is on sale as well! I am in the large and it runs a bit big. I would say if you are in between sizes, then go down one size.
