It’s only August, and I’m already feeling overloaded by fall fashion content, fall trend forecasts, and items I “should” buy for the fall.
It’s too much! I want to opt out.
So guess who’s forgoing the fall things (for now) and doing an end-of-summer capsule wardrobe!?
THIS GIRL.
In Texas, sweater weather is nowhere in sight. In fact, we are just now starting to reach the hottest part of the summer — 104*f yesterday! Whew!
I’m not sad about it though. Summer happens to be my favorite season. What I want most is to savor these long, sunny days while they last and enjoy these summer clothes that I love so very much. Once it’s cold out, I know I’ll miss my linen dresses and flip flops.
So the other day, I pulled out the things I’ve been wearing the most these past few months — and, well, when I looked at that collection of clothes, I thought, “This is all I want to wear right now anyway. Why not do a lil’ capsule wardrobe with these pieces?”
I mean, I’ve been around the block with capsule wardrobes. You remember the whole 37 piece wardrobe thing. 🙂
But this time around, I’m excited to do it without any of the metrics.
Get this — I didn’t even count how many items I put in my capsule! I just went with what felt useful and right. And I have no timeframe on it either. I’ll do it until I don’t want to anymore. 🙂
So anyway, I’m excited to try an old thing in a new way. What a cool thought!
I’ll be posting daily capsule outfit photos here on the blog, but the real juice is getting posted to Instagram — that’s where my daily capsule *videos* will be, including a little break down of each item I included in my capsule. Make sure to follow along on Instagram if you want.
Curiosity is the theme! I’m excited to see what happens as I go.
