Personally, I always find the beginning of a new year makes for the perfect time to assess what trends and styles are about to dominate in the year ahead, so I can mull over what speaks to my personal style and make an informed choice of what to invest in.
So, what chic footwear trends have we got to look forward to for the upcoming season? After analyzing all the cool shoes that paraded down the spring/summer 2025 runways, I can genuinely say, there’s a little something for everyone. Retro sneakers stood out as the most practical—oozing a sophisticated sportiness. Perhaps one of the most unexpected styles that took center stage was the return of peep-toe heels, but this time, the designers gave them a fresh and reimagined feel—some with minimalist micro cutouts, others with a squared-off silhouettes. For the boho-leaning among us, you’ll be happy to hear easy and wearable wooden clogs are about to be everywhere, and as for flats, Mary-Janes continue their dominance in 2025, ranging from classic black to metallic silver.

Peep-toe heels are back for 2025 with modern iterations that reimagine the cutout shoes. On the runways, Khaite gave minimal pumps micro cut outs. At ACNE studios, slingbacks were finished with a spherical peep toe and squared-off silhouettes, and Tory Burch’s peep toes came with glossy sculptural heels. Expect to this trend develop on the market as we head further into 2025.
