Otherwise, Parker’s tip is to put a bit of product onto your fingertips to gauge its tackiness and hold—that way she can determine if the gel will work with your hair type. “You wouldn’t want to put a product on your hair that will do the opposite of the desired outcome.”

Is hair gel healthy for hair?
